El Gran Caribe

After a very cold and long winter the spring season has already arrived! In the season of growth, the spell of darkness and cold is broken! The little birds sing with joy; the nature shines in a blend of green leaves and colorful flowers in bloom; the rabbits run playful in the meadows (and make more rabbits).

So, awesome! time to go out and have some fun!

Not so fast. There is an undefined stage between winter and spring where the all of the great things before mentioned are neglected to us; a season in between where it’s not cold, but there is plenty of snow; where there is sunshine, but no colors; a limbo where things are muddy, dirty, wet, messy and ugly. You don’t believe me?

In the other hand, it looks like Tiramisu! om nom nom nom…

Just like when it rains heavily, cars loves to drive fast next to the sidewalk and splash water all over you for their own amusement. It should be against the law! or at least they should invent some sort of umbrella that cover your flanks :) Anyway, here’s a glance of the sidewalk:

The soil of your shoes could easily stay in here.

This is the kind of mud that bites your shoes and refuses to release their soil.
Hey!!! gimme back my damn shoe!

A little cleaning… But I better be careful, ducks don’t like trespassers.

Ducks? Wait, what?
Oh, yes, i forgot to mention, I saw a couple of them in their newly created yet improvised lake.

This is not a lake!

But ducks are swimming by the sidewalk! God knows how they got there.

When the snow starts to melt, you can see things that were buried for months. I saw the bumper of a car above some bushes, but I don’t think it illustrates properly my point. 

But not all is lost! look What I’ve found:

Thank you, little flower. 

As you see, in the middle of all this half melted snow and mud, there is a signal of joy. A flower that grows just when the snow starts to melt. Lonely, silent, quiet, this flower announces the beginning of the spring.
